Baking tin comprises a stainless steel part(2) which is not coated on the surface which faces the prod., but has on its other surface a coating(18) of a dark-coloured heat resisting material. The coating may be a lacquer, a non-stick coating PTFE), an enamel, etc.. The stainless steel is 0.4 to 1.0 mm, pref. 0.5 to 0.8mm, thick. In a tin with a removable sprung side section, the side section(3) is made from stainless steel or from steel sheet with a non-stick coating. The base(2) has a ring(6) into which the side section(3) is placed, the lower surface(8) of the rim being below the surface(7) which carries the cake. The shoulder(9) between these two surfaces provides a vertical face onto which the side section(3) is fitted, and the coating(18) is provided on the outside of only the support surface(7). The rim(6) has a sloping outer section whose top(12) is not higher than the cake support surface(7) and is provided with a folder edge(11) for ease of handling. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in baking of bread, cakes, etc.. Provides a stainless steel baking tin which is completely immune to rusting, has a practically limitless service life and has good baking characteristics.
