<p>A method of removing organic contaminants from a process gas by collecting the process gas, injecting an absorption liquid into the process gas to form a two-state absorption liquid and process gas mixture, communicating said mixture through a heat exchange module for absorption of organic contaminants, and separating the absorption liquid from the cleaned process gas. The heat exchanger (10) comprises a first group of at least one plate-fin heat exchange module (34a) and a second group of at least one plate-fin heat exchange module (34b), each module (34) includes inlet (72), outlet (74) and a plurality of spaced-apart plates (60) for communicating the refrigerant fluid in a cross-direction to the process fluid. The modules (34) are sequenced alternately with the refrigerant fluid flowing in opposite directions through the modules of the first and second groups, thereby providing substantially uniform thermal transfer across the adjacent pairs of modules.</p> |
