PURPOSE: To enhance emitting efficiency and to perform recording of high gradation and high image quality in a head having a plurality of heating resistors in one nozzle. CONSTITUTION: In an ink jet head wherein a plurality of emitting heaters are provided to one liquid passage 31, an electrothermal transducer is constituted of a plurality of the emitting heaters 2A, 2B and the electrodes 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D connected to the emitting heaters 2 and the distance between the end parts of the emitting heaters 3A, 2B is set to 16μm or less.
