Shrink wrappable cover and mfg. process

A shrink-wrappable cover comprises a plastic matrix with an inlay (5) of resilient fibres (8) and non-resilient fibres (6), the resilient fibres (8) being aligned in the stretching and shrinking direction of the cover (1). The resilient fibres (8) are longer than the distance over which they are normally aligned and after heating and stretching recover towards their original length. A cover mfg. process involves: (a) mfg. a plastic matrix, pref. by extrusion; (b) mfg. a woven or non woven fabric inlay (5) with resilient (8) and non-resilient fibres (6); (c) embedding the inlay (5) in the matrix with the resilient fibres (8) aligned in the stretching and shrinking direction; and (d) heating the cover and stretching to draw the resilient fibres (8) to their full length without any stretching and then cooling.
