PURPOSE: To provide an ink supply unit and a recorder using the same unit in which the invasion of the air into the unit and the leakage of ink are prevented even if the unit is removed and left to stand in any attitude. CONSTITUTION: The differential pressure▵P becomes maximum when the pressure▵P of the pressures applied to both the surfaces of a meniscus forming member 6 is considered in the case that the member 6 is left to stand to be disposed upside. In this case, the head pressure PH of the ink tending to drop by the gravity is applied in the same direction as the negative pressure PR of a capillary tube member 3 on the inner surface of the member 6. Thus, the pressure▵P becomes▵P=PR+PH. The bubble point pressure PG of the member 6 is set to larger than the maximum value PR + PH of the pressure▵P, and hence the air is not invaded into the tank 1 via the member 6. |
