PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of surely preventing the spilling of toner, with a simple assembling process. SOLUTION: The developing roller 11 of the developing device is freely rotatably supported by the opening part of a container, a 1/3 outer periphery is exposed outside and a developing part 5 is formed in a part facing a photoreceptor drum. A doctor blade 12 is provided in the upper part of an opening, to seal the opening. Seal members 13 are arranged between both ends in a longitudinal direction of the roller 11 and the side edge of the opening, in such a manner that the seal members 13 are fixed to the side edge of the opening, to prevent the leakage of the toner. The same seal member 13 is used for each of both end parts of the roller 11 and curvedly attached so that the fixing position of an end part, 13-1 on the upstream side in the rotational direction of the developing roller 11 is placed in a position nearer to the outside in the axial direction of the roller 11 than the fixing position of an end part 13-2 on the downstream side. Thus, while both end parts of the toner layer 14b after development having a width 14b-1 larger than a developing width 14a-1 are scraped toward the center of the roller 11, the toner layer 14b is recovered into the container. |
