Coin lock for stowing supermarket carts

In a coin lock for e.g. supermarket carts the body of the lock is provided with two levers 14 which turn upon introduction of a coin 13 and displace latch plates 17 which release a closure locking plate 20 by which the lock is held to an adjacent element. The levers 14 are held in the closure locking plate release position by means of bars 19 which swing in a vertical plane around individual pins 20 and then engage and hold the levers apart in their releasing positions. Upon its introduction the closure locking plate 20 presses against and turns the bars downward against the elastic action of springs (not shown). This releases the levers 14 which are spring biassed into the closure locking plate engaging position.
