The invention concerns a method for blocking and releasing gear ratios in a vehicle equipped with an automatic gearbox, characterised in that it comprises combined functions (F1, F2, F3) consisting in: F1: blocking the passage of a transmission ratio during a first time delay, called waiting time delay (Ta); F2: blocking the passage of a ratio in response to an instability of the fuel throttle opening angle ( alpha pap): F3: blocking the passage of a ratio in response to a deceleration of the vehicle.
