PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp driving circuit which can prevent the occurrence of sub-scanning directional nonuniformity by a beat of both by synchronizing a fluorescent lamp inverter drive signal and a fluorescent lamp light dimming drive signal in the fluorescent lamp driving circuit of an image forming device such as a copying machine. SOLUTION: This circuit is constituted so as to have a fluorescent lamp inverter 1 to supply voltage necessary to light a fluorescent lamp 5; a fluorescent lamp inverter control circuit 2 to control the fluorescent lamp inverter 1 by outputting a fluorescent lamp inverter drive signal having a frequency F; a fluorescent lamp light dimming control circuit 10 to control an electric current flowing to the fluorescent lamp 5 by outputting a fluorescent lamp light dimming drive signal having a frequency (f); and means 15 to 20 to synchronize the fluorescent lamp inverter drive signal and the fluorescent lamp light dimming drive signal.
