PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically eliminate the effect of background colors from an image, based on calculated background colors, by using a key signal that is information about a boundary of a foreground and a background which constitute an image and an input image and calculating local background colors of pixels near the boundary of the foreground and the background. SOLUTION: An area dividing part 3 forms an area R1 that is only for a foreground, an area R3 that is only for a background and an area R2 in which a foreground and a background are mixed from an image 1 input in accordance with a key signalα2, a remarked pixel deciding part 4 decides a remarked pixel (p) that becomes an object which eliminates background colors, and the nearest pixel calculating part 5 calculates a pixel (q) on the area R3 which is the closest to the pixel (p). A background color calculating part 6 calculates a mean value of colors of plural pixels near the pixel (q) and makes it a background color (b), and a background color eliminating part 7 uses a color C1 of the pixel (q), the signalα2 and the color (b) and calculates a color C2 of a pixel which eliminates the effect of the background colors. With this, it is possible to calculate an accurate key signal in each local area near a boundary of the foreground and the background. |
