PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low-viscosity lubricant compsn. which hardly exhibits foaming and is excellent in lubricity, cleanness, stability, and hard water resistance by compounding a specific fatty acid salt, a specific oxyalkylene compd., an ethylene oxide/propylene oxide adduct, an alcohol, and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid in a specified ratio. SOLUTION: This compsn. contains (A) 0.5-40 wt.% compd. of the formula: R<1> COOM, (B) 0-30 wt.% compd. of the formula: R<2> O(AO)m H, (C) 0-30 wt.% compd. of formula I, (D) 0.1-20 wt.% compd. of formula II, and (E) 3-40 wt.% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or an alkali metal, ammonia, or org. amine salt thereof, the sum of ingredients B and C being 0.5-30 wt.%. In those formulas, R<1> CO is 8-22C acyl; M is an alkali metal, ammonia, or the like; R<2> is a 1-24C hydrocarbon group; AO is 2-4C oxyalkylene; m is 5-75; each of p and r may be 0 provided p+r is 2-30; and q is 20-100. |
