摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a super lattice semiconductor light emitting element capable of simplifying a structure more, reducing a size and laser-oscillating the second higher harmonic component of a short wavelength by a single element. SOLUTION: This super lattice semiconductor light emitting element 10 is provided with a super lattice semiconductor layer 14, where a quantum well layer 22 provided with a p-n junction in a horizontal direction and a barrier layer 21 are alternately laminated for 2.5 cycles on a semiconductor substrate 20 provided with a prescribed slope. In this case, laser oscillation is performed by providing a pair of reflection films 41 and 42 formed so as to clamp the super lattice semiconductor layer 14 in a direction practically orthogonal to the direction of the p-n junction in the horizontal direction for reflecting emitted light, and the light of the second higher harmonic component provided with the wavelength of 350-500 nm is generated by a second higher harmonic generation effect by nonlinear characteristics provided in the material GaAs of the quantum well layer 22 and is discharged in the direction vertical to the semiconductor substrate 20.
