The invention concerns a device comprising a magnetic driving part (13) and a magnetic driven part (14). The driven part is designed to be set at the bottom of a container (51) containing the liquid to be stirred. The driving part (13) is controlled so as to drive the driven part (14) in rotation by magnetic coupling with the driving part about a predetermined axis of rotation (81). The device is characterised in that the driving and driven parts are so shaped as to promote field lines (15) resulting from the magnetic coupling substantially perpendicular to the axis of rotation in the proximity of the driven part. The axial attraction between the driving and the driven parts is thereby considerably reduced for a single couple transmitted to the driven part, such that the driven part (14) and the container bottom (51) suffer less wear during the rotation of the driven part.
