PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve acceleration responsiveness when an accelerator pedal is operated during deceleration. SOLUTION: When answers of S2, S3 are both YES, a throttle valve openingθTH is zero (an accelerator is set OFF), and decelerationΔV of a vehicle is a positive value (under deceleration). In addition, when downshifting is determined according to a normal downshifting transmission map, namely, when answer of S4 is YES, it is determined whether the deceleration ratioΔV reaches or exceeds a skipping determination valueαor not. When the deceleration ratioΔV>=α, that is, determination of S5 is YES, the transmission stage is skipped by one for downshifting (S7).
