<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the occurrence of a flicker, burning, display uneveness and a smear, etc., related to all color pixels in a display area in a liquid crystal display device of a horizontal electric field drive type. SOLUTION: Common electrode lines C1, C2, C3... of the pixels having the same color layers arranged vertically are taken out in the vertical direction, and they are bundled at every color to be connected to CR, CG, CB, and independent variable power sources ER, EG, EB are connected to the CR, CG, CB, and applied voltages are adjusted respectively and independently. Thus, since a DC voltage component applied to a liquid crystal layer in the display area is reduced, the occurrence of the flicker, the display uneveness and the smear, etc., is reduced.</p> |
