<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a liquid crystal display device by laminating a first substrate and a second substrate facing each other through a spacer while forming a specified gap and then injecting a liquid crystal into the gap, and to provide a method by which a liquid crystal display device having good characteristics is produced in an easy production process at a low cost. SOLUTION: A photosensitive polyimide film 8 is formed to a specified thickness almost all over a first substrate where a transparent electrode 6 and a TFT 31 are formed. The polyimide film 8b in the pixel region 30 possessed by the transparent electrode 6 is partially removed in the thickness direction by half exposure and development by using a specified mask. Then the polyimide film 8 remaining on the first substrate 1 is baked to polymerize. The surface of the polyimide film 8 is rubbed to align a liquid crystal 19.</p> |
