PURPOSE: A patent transaction method is provided to sell a company's stocks at auction in order to trade a patent through electronic commerce, to pay the price knocked down, based on the auction, to the patentee of the patent and the company, and to transfer the patent to the company. CONSTITUTION: A patent requests the sale of his patent through a patent transaction market on the Internet(10). A purchaser places an order to purchase the patent through the patent transaction market(20). The patent transaction market receives the transfer documents of the patent from the patentee(30). The purchaser applies for the auction of his stocks(40). The operator of the patent transaction market sells the stocks at auction(50). The price knocked down for the stocks is deposited to the patent transaction market(60). The patent transaction market delivers the stocks to the successful bidder(70). If the auction is completed, the operator of the patent transaction market submits the transfer documents to the Patent Office(80). The patent transaction market pays a portion of the price knocked down the patentee for proceeds from sale(90). The patent transaction market also grants a portion of the price knocked down to the purchaser(100).
