PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield excavator for selectively applying an earth pressure shield method or an excavation method without depending on the earth pressure shield method. SOLUTION: The shield excavator (10) comprises a container (30) that is connected to a screw conveyor (26) in a shield body (14) so that it is connected to the inside of the screw conveyor (26) and receives mucking from the screw conveyor, a means (28) for breaking the connection between the screw conveyor and the container, or the connection between the screw conveyor and a chamber (22) in front of the shield body, a conduit (42) that is connected to the inside of the container or the outside of the chamber or the shield body, and an opening/closing valve (48) that is provided at the conduit. |
