PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose an apparatus for concentrating and collecting water microorganisms in water, which can collect the microorganisms existing in surface layer water of ocean, river, lake, marsh, or the like, and to disclose a method for concentrating and collecting the microorganisms in the water. SOLUTION: This apparatus for concentrating and collecting the microorganisms in the water is characterized by having at least a pump 1 for pumping up water and columns 10 in which the water is pumped up with the pump and into which carriers 11 are inserted, whereby the microorganisms in the pumped water can be concentrated and collected on the carriers in the columns.
