PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release film which renders a foreign substance inconspicuous due to less inclusion of air around the foreign substance when the foreign substance enters into between the surface of a pressure-sensitive adhesive and the release film, and has good transparency and handling properties. SOLUTION: The release film is composed of one layer of a resin having a product of the Olsen rigidity and the thickness of≤50,000 Pam or is obtained by laminating the resin having a product of the Olsen rigidity and the thickness of≤50,000 Pam on the outermost layer. The outermost layer is applied to the surface of a pressure-sensitive adhesive, a pressure-sensitive adhesive film or the like. As the resin having a product of the Olsen rigidity and the thickness of≤50,000 Pam, a thermoplastic resin is preferred. The release film can be further subjected to release treatment.
