<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal display capable of obtaining a bright display high in contrast and wide in viewing angle. <P>SOLUTION: In this liquid crystal display device adopting a vertical alignment mode using a liquid crystal layer of vertical alignment in the initial alignment state, a reflection display region R encloses the surroundings of a transmission display region T in one dot and an insulation layer 21 for adjusting the thickness of liquid crystal layer is provided the region corresponding to the reflection display region R of the dot peripheral part. In a substrate (a counter substrate) on the side opposite to the side where the insulation film 21 is formed, an aperture part 31s is provided at a common electrode in a position corresponding to the boundary region between the reflection display region R and the transmission display region T and electrode parts on the inner and the outer sides of the aperture part are conducted with each other by a conduction part 31c of a corner part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
