<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club which is hard to crack even when the face of the hollow club head is made thinner to achieve a lighter weight and a higher repulsion. <P>SOLUTION: In the golf club, the hollow club head 1 is mounted at the tip part of the shaft 6 while the face 2B of the face of the club head 1 is hardened from the central part across the thickness thereof. Especially, the hardened part is preferably in the range of up to 100μm in depth from the rear 2B.
