Model system (A) for bone comprising a mineralized matrix (M) with osteoblasts (OB) deposited on it to form a confluent lawn and/or nodules and osteoclasts (OC) deposited on the lawn/nodules, is new. Independent claims are also included for: (1) selecting (M) for reconstitution of a bone model; (2) test for aggressiveness of tumor cells (TC) by depositing TC on (A) and observing development of secondary bone cancer; and (3) test for toxicity of chemicals (I) by applying at least one concentration of (I) on (A).
