<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer excellent in cleaning property and charge stability and a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: In a filling step S1, a tightly closed vessel is filled with supercritical carbon dioxide by feeding carbon dioxide into the vessel and adjusting the internal temperature of the vessel to the critical temperature of carbon dioxide or above and the internal pressure to the critical pressure or above. In a dispersion step S2, a mixture of toner materials is dispersed in the supercritical carbon dioxide with a dispersant, whereby fine particles of the toner materials are formed in the supercritical carbon dioxide. In a discharge step S3, toner particles are deposited by adjusting the internal pressure of the vessel to atmospheric pressure while keeping the internal temperature at the critical temperature or above, and the toner particles are discharged from a nozzle disposed in the vessel. At this time, a volume average particle diameter R (μm) of the toner and a pore diameter D (μm) of the nozzle satisfy relationships of the expression (1):4≤R≤10 and the expression (2): 0.0044≤R/D≤0.0244. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
