In the space between the lips is a lubricant, and both lips work together exclusively with a cylindrical brake drum outer surface which lies radially within the take-up hole for the brake housing sealing ring, and limited axially by two radial shoulders. The one shoulder nearest to the brake housing takes the form of a support ring inserted in an outer ring groove of the brake drum, and the other is connected to the brake drum and extends by means of finger-shaped extension to about the outer dia of the sealing ring.
