<p>A process for the production of a pipeline gas of high BTU content from crude oil by hydrogasification of the crude oil. The crude oil is first vaporized in the presence of hydrogen and then gasified to form an effluent gas containing essentially methane, ethane, aromatic hydrocarbons, hyrogen and hydrogen sulfide. After separation of the aromatics and hydrogen sulfide from the effluent, the effluent is subjected to cryogenic separation of the hydrogen and a final catalytic conversion of the ethane to methane.</p> |
