Process for improving the wet-treatment fastness of dyeings or prints on polyamide fibres (esp. those obtd. with acid, direct or metal-contg. dyes) comprises treating after dyeing or printing with a cationic resin prepd. by reacting epichlorohydrin with either (a) a carboxy-terminated polyester/epoxyamine adduct reaction prod., (b) a polyester-polyamide copolymer or (c) a polyamide derived from a polyalkylene polyamine and a dicarboxylic acid. The fastness is higher than that obtd. with anionic resins (e.g. phenolics) and is not decreased by heat treatment. There is no yellowing, deterioration of handle or decrease of light-fastness.
|
