<p>In a transport container for dangerous liquids, a protective shell is provided for the charging and emptying fittings mounted on the container. The shell consists of an upwardly opening shell structure mounted on the container and having a central portion which extends into the container, with a pair of exposed end portions that extend outwardly from the container; at least one of the exposed end portions is opened to allow drainage of fluid from the shell. The charging and emptying fittings, and other control devices, are positioned in the shell where they are protected against corrosion and breakage, and yet are readily accessible for operation.</p> |
