Digital control and monitoring system of machine tools has connecting lines, control units and centrally located computer. Connecting lines and control units are assigned to individual machine tools or units. Computer control is exercised on the basis of feedback messages and programmes stored in the computer. A multiple sub-distribution channel is arranged between the central computer (1) and control block (14). It accepts and/or emits signals and is assigned to the machine tools or units. The sub-distribution channel consists of several standardised sub-distribution printed circuit cards which carry out automatically control functions after receiving a command from the central computer (1).
