The invention relates to an automatic installation for preparing homogenous alloys samples which is used in research laboratories in the field of solid body physics, metallurgy, science of materials or chemistry and permits highly homogenous alloys samples to be obtained, even when the primary components are not perfectly miscible or have extremely high melting points. According to the invention, the installation consists of a rotary crucible (5) wherein the alloy sample (15) is melted, driven by means of a coupling piece (7), coaxially mounted inside the main body (6), having double walls at the bottom part, wherethrough a cooling liquid circulates vertically, sealed by two oil retainers (12a and 12b), where two encapsulated bearings (13a and 13b) ensure fine rotation of the coupling piece (7), the electric arc formed between the non-fusible electrode (16) of the WIG torch and the alloy sample (15) automatically follows the advance of the sample (15) on the inner wall of the rotary crucible (5) by means of an oscillating mechanism consisting of a lobe cam (25), a pushing roller tappet (24), a pivoting coupling (21) and the collar (20) fastening the WIG torch handle, the position of the lobe cam (25) being determined by the optical transducer (27) by means of some equidistantly arranged orifices (26), the coupling piece (7) and the crucible (5) being rotated by a DC or AC motor by means of a driving belt (8) and a gin (9) and the electrical contact of the coupling piece (7) with the negative pole of the constant current source is carried out by means of some commutator brushes (14). |
