<p>PURPOSE:To reproduce an excellent still picture by compressing the band of a color signal by a buffer memory, by multiplying a luminance signal and frequency-converted color signal in a time-division mode before transmitting them via a narrow- band transmission line, and by demodulating them at a reception side. CONSTITUTION:A composite video signal is separated 10 into a luminance signal and color signal, which is frequency converted 15 and band-compressed in buffer memory 18, and the luminance signal and the frequency-converted color signal are both multiplied in a time-division mode and transmitted via a narrow-band transmission line from buffer memory 19. At the reception side, on the other hand, the transmitted FM-modulated wave is demodulated 31, A/D-converted 33, and sent to memory 33, where it is separated into the luminance signal and color signal through a time-division process; and then, the color signal is band-expanded by buffer memory 37 D/A-converted, and frequecy-converted 39 before being mixed 36 with the luminance signal, thereby obtaining a still picture. Consequently, the color signal is band-compressed by using the memory, transmitted and band-expanded, so that an excellent picture can be reproduced.</p> |
