Parent Patent describes the mfr. of electric film capacitors starting from at least one long strip of plastic foil which is coated on both sides with a layer of metal leaving bare, insulating zones. The strip is then wound in a coil and sprayed with metal on its edges to form electric contacts. The novelty is the use of a wide strip of mother foil, which is metallised on both sides and then cut into numerous separate strips. The bare insulating zones can be obtd. by using masks on the mother foil, or by selective removal of the metallised layers. The mother foil is then cut into strips. Simple and fast mass prodn. of film capacitors is achieved.
