PURPOSE:To metallize plastic moldings with good adhesion and surface accuracy, by a method wherein a plastic is molded by using a molding core metal composed of an Al alloy (on which metals are deposited and further a primer is coated on the deposited metal layer), and then the core metal is dissolved and removed. CONSTITUTION:For example, as shown by Fig. 1, a molding core metal 1 composed of an Al alloy is successively subjected to copper striking 2, gold plating 3 and then copper plating 4 by means of electroplating. The copper-plated layer 4 is abraded and then oxidized. The oxidized surface is coated with an epoxy primer 5 and dried. A prepreg 6 composed of a glass cloth impregnated with an epoxy resin varnish is laminated on the surface of the primer layer 5. The composite is heated under pressure to cure it. Then the core metal 1 is dissolved by using an NaOH soln., and removed. The copper-striked layer 2 is dissolved by using a nitric acid soln., and removed. As shown by Fig. 2, there can be obtd. a glass cloth-reinforced epoxy resin molded article in which the substrate of the inside is composed of the copper plated layer 4 treated with gold plating 3.
|
