Method and apparatus for intensive moisturising of cereals. The invention relates to a method and its application device making it possible to moisturise continuously a flux of cereals, up to a water addition of 5% in one single operation. The method consists in making the cereals and water mixture follow a helical pathway, thus making it possible to achieve a bubbling-through distance equal to more than 30 times the length of the apparatus. The apparatus consists of a polygonal or cylindrical fixed envelope having an inlet orifice, an outlet orifice, and inside which a rotor turns rapidly, on which are mounted turns, blades or feeders, generating the helical progression (displacement) of the product to be treated. The method and the apparatus according to the invention are intended in particular for wetting wheat before milling. <IMAGE>
