The automotive apparatus for eliminating protuberances inside a conduit or for carrying out drilling operations inside a tunnel comprising a locking device for immobilising it inside the conduit or tunnel, when it is in operation, is characterised in that it comprises a device for propulsion 2 by reaction known per se operating with a first fluid, a rotatory motor 3 for a cutting and/or drilling tool 4, a means 7 controlled for diverting the said first fluid from the said propulsion device 2 towards the said motor 3, the said propulsion device 2 then being able to be stopped and in that it comprises, in addition, an anti-vibration device 8 for locking the said apparatus inside the said conduit or tunnel which is activated by means of a first member 5 acting under the effect of a second fluid, at the same time approximately as a second member 6 controlling the said means 7, and in that it comprises, in addition, a third member 9 which controls the advance of the said tool 4 and which is driven by a third fluid, the tool advancing by means 14, 10 enabling the axial displacement of the said tool 4, the said motor 3 remaining fixed and stationary inside the casing 1 of the apparatus. <IMAGE>
