Novel pyridyl compounds and their N-oxides, process for their preparation, and their use in crop protection

The novel pyridyl compounds are those of the general formula <IMAGE> in which the symbols have essentially the following meaning: X = N or N <- 0; R = H or alkyl; p = 0, 1 or 2; Ar = (substituted) phenyl and Y = hydrogen or an organic radical. A process for the preparation of these compounds and fungicidal and crop-protecting composition with an effective content of at least one compound of the above general formula are also described.
