The pivotable ladder point is releasably and fixedly connected on a thread spindle on the bottom string part of the aluminium ladder by means of a wing nut and a shell-type arresting means. If the pivotable securing point is directed upwards parallel to the strings, then, in the case of a smooth underlying surface, the rubber or plastic foot of the ladder is prevented from sliding. If the pivotable ladder point is rotated through 180 DEG , said point, in the loose, naturally growing underlying surface, ensures, by penetrating into the earth, that the ladder is secured to the greatest possible extent from slipping away, whereas, in the stated case, the rubber or plastic foot would more likely cause the ladder to slip away. A fundamental standpoint is, in addition, that, in a simple manner, virtually anyone can retrofit any ladder with this pivotable ladder point.
