PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and image formation method capable of dealing with a medium which exceeds the conveyance limitation of a pair of rollers in image formation in which the medium is conveyed with the medium sandwiched between the pair of rollers.SOLUTION: In the case that a medium (12) exceeding the conveyance limitation of first conveyance means (150) in which medium conveyance using a first roller (40A) and a second roller (40B) are applied is used, second conveyance means (170) is used to assist the medium conveyance by the first conveyance means. Second drive means (190) for driving the second conveyance means is subjected to drive control by using a drive signal that is applied to drive control of first drive means (162) for driving first conveyance means. Medium conveyance which synchronizes the first conveyance means with the second conveyance means is achieved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
