This device is of the type comprising a support plate (2) on which light-emitting diodes (3) are fixed in a distribution which corresponds to the contours of the pattern to be signalled, and a transparent plate (4) for protecting the diodes (3), placed in front of the said support plate (2). According to the invention the transparent plate (4) is translucent, that is to say is able, depending on its distance with respect to the diodes (3), to generate diffraction of the light beams (6) emitted by the diodes (3) so as to cause an effect of rendering the light surface uniform, while preserving the general form of the pattern or symbol to be signalled. <IMAGE> |
