PURPOSE: To provide an electric double layer capacitor in which the deterioration of the performance when the capacitor is stored at a high temperature is small. CONSTITUTION: The electric double layer capacitor is formed by disposing two activated charcoal electrodes 2, 3 oppositely in a gasket 12 via a separator 5 and conductive films 6, 7 in the upper and lower openings of the gasket 12, and attaching a pair of electrode plates 9, 10 to the upper and lower surfaces of the gasket 12 with hot-melt adhesives 13, 15. Accordingly, the electrodes 2, 3, the separator 5, the films 6, 7, the gasket 12 and the adhesives 13, 15 are isolated from the exterior by a box made up of the plates 9, 10 and a non- gaspermeable member 16. Thus, even if it is preserved at a high temperature, the deterioration of discharging performance is reduced, and external appearance failure and uneven size do not occur. |
