Automotive power train torsional dampener

A motor drives a shaft with a torsion oscillation dampener (17) linked to a power output section shaft. The input and output shafts rotate with respect to each other against the force of a helical leaf spring. The spring (18) forms an elastically deformable elongated arm bending radially and extending around the axis of rotation. It may be in frictional contact with both shafts. The spring unit can incorporate pref. two helical leaf springs arranged to balance each other. The spiral path of each spring may describe an arc of pref. (450) degrees. The end of each spring may be a flat cylindrical section resting against the relative shaft and producing the necessary frictional force.
