PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify one part of processing in transmission processing at a communication terminal by providing broadcast server equipment partially with the functional means of ATM address resolution protocol(ATMARP) equipment. SOLUTION: An ATMARP inquiry input means 41 inputs the inquiry of ATMARP from the communication terminal, namely, the request of translation from a network address to an ATM address. An address translation retrieving means 42 judges the inputted network address and when it is a broadcast address, the AT address of a present station is defined as the retrieved result. Besides, when it is not the broadcast address, an address translation table 44 is retrieved with the inputted network address as a retrieval key. A retrieved result output means 43 outputs the provided retrieved result to the inquiry source communication terminal. When the inputted network address is the broadcast address, it is inputted by a broadcast packet input means 45. A broadcast packet output means 46 communicates it to all the communication terminals.
