Laser radar speed measurement method for road traffic

The method involves using at least two parallel radar measurement beams (4,5) at a known distance apart, preferably at the same height above the road and perpendicular to the course of the road at the height of a vehicle. The reflection of the measurement beams (10,11) by passing vehicles leads to speed-dependent and vehicle-typical profile graphs. The traffic parameter information is derived from the profile graphs for both measurement beams.
