PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an opal-finished product, comprising diacetate fibers and cation-dyeable polyester fibers, in which the diacetate fibers are opal-finished in the form of a pattern and hardly deteriorated in the bursting strength of a design fabric formed of the cation-dyeable polyester fibers in the opal-finished part. SOLUTION: This opal finished product comprises diacetate fibers undergoing opal finishing from a woven or a knitted fabric composed of the diacetate fibers and cation-dyeable polyester fibers in the form of a pattern and has >=35% ratio of bursting strength of a design fabric formed of the polyester fibers in the opal finished part to the polyester fibers in the opal unfinished part when kept under an atmosphere at 70 deg.C and 90% RH for 1 week. The opal-finished product is obtained by printing the woven or knitted fabric composed of the diacetate fibers and the cation-dyeable polyester fibers with an opal-finishing paste containing a sulfate salt as an opal finishing agent in the form of the pattern, heat-treating the printed woven or knitted fabric, washing the heat-treated fabric with water and then performing the heating treatment of the washed fabric in an aqueous solution containing ammonia. |
