Detachable shoulder strap for musical instruments, especially guitars

A lockable cover for the coupling case linking the strap to the instrument is pivotally joined to the strap-side end (2a) of an apertured base plate for the case. A catch profile (23) is formed by a semicircular-shaped side wall protruding from the underside of the cover. The inner circumferential surface (4) of the profile engages with the half section of the screw head facing away from a screw-shaft receiving part of a keyhole in the base plate when the cover is locked. A press-fit coupling inside the case prevents unauthorized opening of the cover. At least one end (1a) of the strap (2) is releasably secured to an anchoring point on the instrument using a screw (3) and an end piece (2) on the strap can be locked to prevent the strap from being removed. The end piece is a lockable coupling case comprising an apertured base plate (21) with a keyhole (24), and a lockable cover (22) pivotally mounted on the base plate. The cover has a protruding catch profile (23) on its underside. A round opening (24a) part of the keyhole receives the screw head (3.1), whilst an elongated oval opening part (24b) of the same keyhole adjacent to the round opening part receives the screw shaft (3.2). With the round opening in the cover placed over the screw head and the cover still open, the cover is slid so that the elongated oval opening engages with the screw shaft, and once the cover is closed to lock it the catch profile will prevent unlocking of the by sliding movement of the coupling case, but allows for rotation of the coupling about the screw axis (3.0).
