An integrated bottle and bottle cap assembly (10) which allows medicinal substances (467) or non-medicinal substances (48) to be conveniently and hygienically stored within a bottle cap (26) attached to a water bottle (12) having a peel-off seal (18). The bottle cap (26) is disclosed in two designs: in the first design, the bottle cap (26) incorporates an internal protrusion (60) to which is attached a peel-off seal (56). In the second design, a separate enclosure (72) enclosing the substance (46, 48) is used. The enclosure (72) has a lower surface consisting of a peel-off seal (56) and is dimensioned to frictionally fit into and held within the bottle cap (26). To use the assembly (10), the bottle cap (26) is removed from the bottle (12), the seal (18) on the bottle (12) is removed, the seal (56) on the bottle cap (26) is removed, and the substance (46, 48) is ingested followed by swallowing water or, the substance (46, 48) is inserted into the bottle (12) and the mixed contents are ingested. |
