FIELD: powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: zirconium dioxide with particle size 0.1 to 2.5 mcm is mixed with magnesium powder with particle size 0.1-0.5 mm at weight ratio (1.3-2.0):1. Mixture is mechanically activated in argon medium with amplitude 0.5-1.0 mm and frequency 500-1000 vib./min for 0.5-3 min, after which mixture is calcined in argon at 730-800 C for 1-3 hr, cooled, and treated with 0.5-3.0 M mineral acid solution to separate impurities.
