PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for wholly or partially freezing products arranged in one row, which enables controlled impregnation of a conveyor and do not require any system for recovering and recycling an excess low temperature liquid. SOLUTION: This apparatus comprises a closed container 2, a conveyor 3 for introducing products P into the closed container 2 and extracting the products P and a refrigerating means 6 for freezing the products P. In this case, this refrigerating means 6 is provided with an impregnation means for impregnating with a low temperature liquid the conveyor 3 suitable for spraying a low temperature liquid to a bottom face of a transfer passage 17 above the conveyor 3. This apparatus is also provided with a means suitable for controlling operation of the impregnation means according to a result of an impregnation inspection of the conveyor 3.
