PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform air conditioning operation in correspondence with physiological variation of human body by detecting perspiration of a person and making a switch between cooling operation and operation stop or between cooling operation and dehumidification operation depending on the detected respiration. SOLUTION: A respiration sensor 5 detects respiration varying with time. A controller 1 makes a decision whether respiration is high or not based on the output signal from the respiration sensor 5. If the output voltage is higher than a threshold level and a decision is made that respiration is higher than a specified level, cooling operation of an air conditioner 2 is started based on a control signal from the controller 1. Cooling operation is stopped if the output voltage is lower than the threshold level and a decision is made that respiration is lower than the specified level. When respiration is low, humidity increases immediately upon stopping cooling operation and a person feels uncomfortableness because the skin becomes sticky. In this case, dehumidification operation is performed even if respiration is low so that a person does not feel uncomfortableness. |
