PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method to configure a network system which can make use of advantageous features and also make up for defects of respective plural protocols which are used for the inter-node communication by carrying out these protocols on the same network. SOLUTION: This communication method of transmission frames is used in a network where plural nodes 10 are connected together and plural types of protocols are available. At each of nodes 10, one or plural protocols to which its own nodes is corresponding is previously set on a protocol correspondence table 14 and also the information is stored for carrying out the set protocols. A management station 20 which is connected to the network manages the protocols in the order of their using and notifies plural nodes of the protocol to be used next. Every node receives the notification to decide whether or not the notified protocol is identical to a protocol to which its own one is corresponding, and transmits a transmission frame in a prescribed timing according to the information when its own protocol is identical to the relevant protocol.
